Nerlinger: “Srna will not join Bayern”
Uli Hoeneß successor Christian Nerlinger told the German ‘Bild’ today that “I can rule out a Srna transfer”. The new Bayern Munich General Manager furthermore said “Chances are low we will acquire another transfer this sommer period. If we put some money on the transfer market than it will definitely be the right back position – but I don’t know who we should transfer for this specific position. We’re not under pressure and have an excellent working youth academy with some brilliant youngsters.”
After Croatian national team Head Coach Slaven Bilić advertised his skipper with the words “Srna is the perfect addition for Bayern” in an interview at the T-Home Cup last week-end a transfer is not that likely anymore. The German record champion spent more than € 50m this summer for new players – Srna is under contract at Donetsk until 2011 and is worth around € 18,5m – possibly more with his last impact on Euro football by winning the UEFA Cup. Too expansive for Bayern.
Srna’s agent Štimac wants him to move, no wonder since he will get a big amount of cash in his own pocket with such a fees: “The time is now – or never” the former “Golden Generation” member said.
