Petrić: “Wolfsburg offered me a doubled salary”
A few weeks ago Mladen Petrić was heavily flirting with German Bundesliga champions VfL Wolfsburg, now the Hamburger SV striker is willing to extend his contract early. However the case of Petrić is still on hold since negotiation with the Hamburg management has not yet started.
“Talkings about an early contract extension with Dietmar Beiersdorfer have been appointed. But as nobody called I’ve assumed that HSV does not welcome this move” Petrić told the ‘Hamburger Morgenpost’ and explained why he publicly thought about a move to Wolfsburg. However the 28-year-old added he’s still interested to extend his contract in Hamburg: “Yes, my ambition is to extend contract with Hamburg. But of course the club has to contact me now”.
According to ’spox’ VfL Wolfsburg was ready to pay Petrić the doubled salary. “Of course I was pondering about Wolfsburg offer. Even because of my family I thought about a move to Wolfsburg. We would have been set for life”.
